Save Image As... ("the Extension") is committed to safeguarding user privacy. This policy explains our data practices and reassures users that their personal information and converted images remain private and secure at all times.

2. Data Collection and Usage

Summary: We do NOT collect, transmit, store, sell, or monitor any of your personal data, browsing history, or image files.
  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): The Extension does not request, collect, or process names, email addresses, IP addresses, credentials, or location data.
  • No Image Uploads: All image format conversions (PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, BMP), canvas processing, and filename formatting occur 100% locally on your computer inside your web browser. Images are never uploaded to any external server.
  • Local Settings Storage: The Extension stores your preferences (such as enabled context menu formats, quality settings, default background fill colors, theme, and custom filename patterns) locally on your device via Chrome's secure chrome.storage.sync API.

3. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate any third-party tracking scripts, analytics tools, advertising networks, or external telemetry services.

4. Browser Permissions

The Extension requests only the minimum required permissions to function:

  • contextMenus — Adds the right-click "Save Image As..." options to web images.
  • downloads — Saves converted images to your local Downloads folder.
  • storage — Remembers your preferences and custom settings.
  • offscreen — Performs background canvas conversion smoothly.
  • scripting — Enables copying converted PNG images to your system clipboard.
  • sidePanel — Displays extension settings within Chrome's native Side Panel.
  • <all_urls> — Enables retrieving cross-origin image binary data when you right-click an image on any webpage.
